calculation related to my project

IDAF Task 3:

An electric car (VW e-golf) consumes approx. 12.7 kwh per 100 km.

a modern heat pump dryer (tumble dryer) requires approx. 2 kWh per wash cycle. This means that for the same energy output, you could run it about 6-7 times.

oldtimer vs. new cars

It was very difficult to get any information about the energy output of oldtimers. After a long search I found a reliable source from which I took the information that gave me a very surprising result.

Glugg glugg glugg.

The biggest positive point about a vintage car is the fact that it has already been manufactured.
In Europe, a new car is purchased every 5-7 years on average. Since most of the emissions are produced during the manufacturing process and then "decomposed" during use, the modern car becomes more and more environmentally friendly the longer it is driven.

Climate comparison

So which car is really the more climate-friendly?
It is asked from the construction of the different cars about the use.
Is the internal combustion engine more eco-friendly in the beginning or is an electric vehicle the better car through and through?

goals for today

My goals for today are to create the login for don't waste my energy, find some pictures for the final post on don't waste my energy and finish the very important research regarding the environmental friendliness of the two cars, the electric car and internal combustion engine.

After the post about environmental friendliness, we would have all the information we need.
We are on a good way.

cost comparison

When making a cost comparison between a "normal" car and an electric car, one must consider the following points:

- Acquisition costs
- Maintenance costs (repair, refuelling / charging, etc.)
- Stability of value

Acquisition costs

The acquisition costs for an electric car are significantly higher than for a petrol car of the same type.
If we take the Hyundai Kona, for example, as a comparison, we are talking about a price difference of 12,000 Swiss francs between the petrol and electric versions.

Costs are calculated per year with approx. 15'000 KM!

goal for today 11.2.22

I want to do all the tasks before holiday.

If there is still time left, the goal is to continue collecting information.

the experience

Task 8

In this post we wannt to show you our experience we already did and what we want to do in the near future for our project.

We are in contact with several people and are collecting information about the costs of electric vehicles, classic cars and normal combustion vehicles.

We have already been able to talk to individual contacts and draw our conclusions from them. In addition, we asked ourselves further questions which we would like to have answered.

Already a lot of information could be taken from the different websites and analysed with each other.

Many people do not know what advantages, but of course also disadvantages, electric cars bring with them. With our posts and the information we collect, we want to show everyone how electric cars are built. The environment should be a big factor.
